|Dec. 31, 2017 4:26 PM PT5:26 PM MT6:26 PM CT7:26 PM ET0:26 GMT8:26 5:26 PM MST7:26 PM EST6:26 PM CT4:26 UAE (+1)19:26 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 20 of 37 for 158 yards and didn't throw a touchdown pass Sunday in the Washington Redskins' 18-10 loss to the New York Giants. He threw three interceptions, didn't fumble and was sacked three times. Cousins added 12 rushing yards on one carry and scored one touchdown on the ground.
Analysis: Cousins struggled over the season's final month with the Redskins dealing with a slew of offensive injuries, but still topped 4,000 yards for a third straight year and recorded the second-highest touchdown total (27) of his six-year career. Unless Washington is able to reach a long-term deal with the 29-year-old, he'll enter the offseason as likely the top free-agent quarterback on the market.
|Dec. 26, 2017 10:34 AM PT11:34 AM MT12:34 PM CT1:34 PM ET18:34 GMT2:34 11:34 AM MST1:34 PM EST12:34 PM CT22:34 UAE13:34 ETNaN: - Redskins coach Jay Gruden said that quarterback Kirk Cousins would start Sunday's season finale at the New York Giants despite the potential of an injury and no postseason ramifications involved. "There's no thought to that at all," Gruden said on a conference call two days after the Redskins' 27-11 win over the Denver Broncos. "Kirk wants to finish out the season. Got to get us back to 8-8."
Analysis: Cousins, who has 27 touchdown passes on the season, started all 47 games since taking over as the starter in 2015. Whether he plays for the Redskins in 2018 and beyond is one of the NFL's major offseason questions.
|Dec. 24, 2017 3:50 PM PT4:50 PM MT5:50 PM CT6:50 PM ET23:50 GMT7:50 4:50 PM MST6:50 PM EST5:50 PM CT3:50 UAE (+1)18:50 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 19 of 37 for 299 yards and threw three touchdown passes Sunday in the Washington Redskins' 27-11 win over the Denver Broncos. He threw one interception, didn't fumble and was not sacked. Cousins added eight rushing yards on five carries.
Analysis: Cousins didn't sound emotional following what might have been his last game as a Redskin at FedExField on Sunday. For the third straight year, Cousins will enter the offseason as a pending free agent. However, the Redskins could apply the franchise tag for an unprecedented third time or the parties could agree on long-term contract.
|Dec. 17, 2017 1:38 PM PT2:38 PM MT3:38 PM CT4:38 PM ET21:38 GMT5:38 2:38 PM MST4:38 PM EST3:38 PM CT1:38 UAE (+1)16:38 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 18 of 26 for 196 yards and threw two touchdown passes Sunday in the Washington Redskins' 20-15 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked one time.
Analysis: Though held under 200 yards for a second straight week, Cousins was highly efficient and has now produced multiple touchdown passes in four of his last five games, totaling 10 over that span. Historically solid at FedEx Field, he'll take on a suddenly vulnerable Denver pass defense at home in Week 16.
|Dec. 10, 2017 6:29 PM PT7:29 PM MT8:29 PM CT9:29 PM ET2:29 GMT10:29 7:29 PM MST9:29 PM EST8:29 PM CT6:29 UAE (+1)21:29 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 15 of 27 for 151 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the Washington Redskins' 30-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He threw one interception, didn't fumble and was sacked two times. Cousins added eight rushing yards on two carries.
Analysis: Cousins was held under 200 yards passing for the first time since Week 2 and completed a season-low 55.6 percent of his passes. He's failed to throw a touchdown just once in 13 games but has totaled four interceptions in his past three games. Cousins isn't finishing the season strong and neither are his teammates.
|Dec. 1, 2017 9:26 PM PT10:26 PM MT11:26 PM CT12:26 AM ET5:26 GMT13:26 10:26 PM MST12:26 AM EST11:26 PM CT9:26 UAE0:26 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 26 of 37 for 251 yards and threw two touchdown passes Thursday in the Washington Redskins' 38-14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He threw two interceptions, fumbled once and was sacked four times. Cousins added six rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: Cousins' three turnovers proved costly in a game that could have been much closer, and he continues to face frequent pressure working behind a decimated offensive line. Still, the looming free agent has thrown for seven TDs over his past three games and is a threat to put up 300 yards every time out, making him a solid fantasy play most weeks. The next one could be a tough spot, however, against a Chargers defense that's playing very well right now.
|Nov. 23, 2017 8:03 PM PT9:03 PM MT10:03 PM CT11:03 PM ET4:03 GMT12:03 9:03 PM MST11:03 PM EST10:03 PM CT8:03 UAE23:03 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 19 of 31 for 242 yards and threw two touchdown passes Thursday in the Washington Redskins' 20-10 win over the New York Giants. He threw one interception, didn't fumble and was sacked six times. Cousins added four rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: Cousins threw a pick-6 but had multiple touchdowns for the second straight game. He has six in his last three games and 19 TDs against six picks for the season is a very nice ratio. Cousins was unable to reach 300 yards for the third consecutive game, but he wasn't totally to blame as he was under constant pressure and was sacked six times. He gets a juicy matchup next week against the reeling Cowboys.
|Nov. 19, 2017 3:46 PM PT4:46 PM MT5:46 PM CT6:46 PM ET23:46 GMT7:46 4:46 PM MST6:46 PM EST5:46 PM CT3:46 UAE (+1)18:46 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 22 of 32 for 322 yards and threw three touchdown passes Sunday in the Washington Redskins' 34-31 loss to the New Orleans Saints. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked two times. Cousins added 11 rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: It was the second straight 300-yard passing game for Cousins, whose 132.6 rating was his second-best of the season. The Redskins have a quick turnaround with a Thanksgiving Day game, but have the luxury of facing the woeful Giants.
|Nov. 12, 2017 2:58 PM PT3:58 PM MT4:58 PM CT5:58 PM ET22:58 GMT6:58 3:58 PM MST5:58 PM EST4:58 PM CT2:58 UAE (+1)17:58 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 26 of 45 for 327 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the Washington Redskins' 38-30 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He threw one interception, didn't fumble and was sacked one time. Cousins added five rushing yards on four carries and scored two touchdowns on the ground.
Analysis: Cousins had his fourth 300-yard game of the season but only has two touchdowns in his last three contests. In Week 11, the Redskins visit a Saints team which has allowed 11 TD passes, tied for eighth-fewest in the league.
|Nov. 5, 2017 4:36 PM PT5:36 PM MT6:36 PM CT7:36 PM ET0:36 GMT8:36 5:36 PM MST7:36 PM EST6:36 PM CT4:36 UAE (+1)19:36 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 21 of 31 for 247 yards and didn't throw a touchdown pass Sunday in the Washington Redskins' 17-14 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He did not throw an interception, fumbled once and was sacked six times. Cousins added four rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: Cousins drove Washington 70 yards in 35 seconds, capped by Rob Kelley's 1-yard touchdown run with less than a minute remaining, as the Redskins rallied late. He took care of the ball against Seattle's standout defense, and also withstood a number of quarterback hits behind a makeshift offensive line of backups and rookies.
|Oct. 29, 2017 4:18 PM PT5:18 PM MT6:18 PM CT7:18 PM ET23:18 GMT7:18 4:18 PM MST6:18 PM EST5:18 PM CT3:18 UAE (+1)19:18 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 26 of 39 for 263 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the Washington Redskins' 33-19 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He threw one interception, fumbled once and was sacked four times.
Analysis: With his line decimated by injuries and playing in a driving rain, Cousins still had a decent game. He did throw a costly pick and lost a fumble, but still piled up solid yardage. Cousins has a very difficult assignment next week at Seattle and can only hope his line gets healthy in a hurry.
|Oct. 23, 2017 8:23 PM PT9:23 PM MT10:23 PM CT11:23 PM ET3:23 GMT11:23 8:23 PM MST10:23 PM EST10:23 PM CT7:23 UAE (+1)23:23 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 30 of 40 for 303 yards and threw three touchdown passes Monday in the Washington Redskins' 34-24 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He threw one interception, didn't fumble and was sacked four times. Cousins added 18 rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: While the Redskins' results have been up and down, Cousins has stayed consistent by surpassing the 300-yard mark three times during a four-game span in which he's thrown for 10 touchdowns with just two interceptions. Generally very good at home, he should be worth keeping in fantasy lineups when the Cowboys visit FedEx Field next Sunday.
|Oct. 15, 2017 1:53 PM PT2:53 PM MT3:53 PM CT4:53 PM ET20:53 GMT4:53 1:53 PM MST3:53 PM EST3:53 PM CT0:53 UAE (+1)16:53 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 25 of 37 for 330 yards and threw two touchdown passes Sunday in the Washington Redskins' 26-24 win over the San Francisco 49ers. He threw one interception, didn't fumble and was sacked one time. Cousins added 26 rushing yards on four carries and scored one touchdown on the ground.
Analysis: Cousins isn't a sexy fantasy quarterback, but that's three straight games with a 100.0 or better passer rating for him.
|Oct. 2, 2017 8:47 PM PT9:47 PM MT10:47 PM CT11:47 PM ET3:47 GMT11:47 8:47 PM MST10:47 PM EST10:47 PM CT7:47 UAE (+1)23:47 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 14 of 24 for 220 yards and threw two touchdown passes Monday in the Washington Redskins' 29-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was not sacked. Cousins added 38 rushing yards on seven carries.
Analysis: Cousins had a good game, but it should've been even better. His pass to Josh Doctson in the end zone late in the fourth quarter should've been caught and that may have given Washington the win plus a third TD throw for Cousins. He did rush for a career-high 38 yards and didn't throw a pick for the third straight game.
|Sep. 24, 2017 8:51 PM PT9:51 PM MT10:51 PM CT11:51 PM ET3:51 GMT11:51 8:51 PM MST10:51 PM EST10:51 PM CT7:51 UAE (+1)23:51 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 25 of 30 for 365 yards and threw three touchdown passes Sunday in the Washington Redskins' 27-10 win over the Oakland Raiders. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked one time. Cousins added two rushing yards on one carry.
Analysis: Cousins came through with the big performance owners had been waiting for. He entered the contest with 419 yards with two scores and one pick in his previous two games.
|Sep. 17, 2017 5:13 PM PT6:13 PM MT7:13 PM CT8:13 PM ET0:13 GMT8:13 5:13 PM MST7:13 PM EST7:13 PM CT4:13 UAE (+1)20:13 ETNaN: - Kirk Cousins was 18 of 27 for 179 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the Washington Redskins' 27-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked two times. Cousins added seven rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: Cousins came through in crunch time, engineering a long drive he capped with an 11-yard scoring strike to Ryan Grant with 1:49 left that snapped a 20-20 tie. He's still averaging a pedestrian 6.3 yards per pass attempt through the first two weeks, well below his rates in each of the previous two seasons. Though still a viable option in two-QB fantasy leagues, the potential free agent may be best suited for the bench for next week's showdown with the Raiders.
|July 16, 2017 12:23 PM PT1:23 PM MT2:23 PM CT3:23 PM ET19:23 GMT3:23 12:23 PM MST2:23 PM EST2:23 PM CT23:23 UAE15:23 ETNaN: - Cousins and the Redskins did not come to a long-term contract agreement prior to Monday's deadline to negotiate with franchise-tagged players. The Pro Bowl quarterback will instead play under the $23.94 million tender before becoming a free agent in 2018.
Analysis: Cousins will play under the tag for a second straight season, though it's unlikely the Redskins would franchise him again in 2018 at the cumbersome cost of $34.7 million. The 28-year-old has publicly stated he would be open to renewing contract discussions following the upcoming season. After throwing for 4,166 yards and 29 touchdowns in his first full season as a starter in 2015, Cousins set a franchise record with 4,917 yards this past campaign.
|Feb. 28, 2017 10:43 AM PT11:43 AM MT12:43 PM CT1:43 PM ET18:43 GMT2:43 11:43 AM MST1:43 PM EST12:43 PM CT22:43 UAE13:43 ETNaN: - The Redskins have placed the exclusive franchise tag on Cousins, meaning he can't negotiate with other teams.
Analysis: Before being tagged, Cousins had reportedly expressed interested in a reunion with former Redskins offensive coordinator and new 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco. Cousins is entering his sixth NFL season after throwing for 12,113 yards, 72 touchdowns and 42 interceptions in five previous seasons with Washington.
